A. Victor Thomas Recreation & Leisure Services Scholarship

Scholarship Information

This scholarship fund was established in honor of House of Representatives Delegate A. Victor Thomas in 1990. Delegate Thomas was known for his support of conservation and for his natural resource projects throughout the Commonwealth of VA. The Virginia Wildlife Federation named him Legislative Conservationist in 1982. He played an active role in the development of our state’s natural resources for recreational uses. Del. Thomas was a staunch supporter of efforts to build parks, recreation areas, and conservation areas for wildlife.

Scholarship Criteria

  • Recipient of this scholarship must have declared major within the Department of Recreation, Parks, and Tourism.
  • Maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • Must demonstrate student leadership in a variety of campus activities.
